Pribadi Wicaksono, Jakarta – The Secretary of the Advisory Council of the Central Executive Board of the Ummat Party, Ansufri Idrus Sambo, is questioning the disappearance of a video featuring the opinion of the Chair of the Ummat Party's Advisory Council, Amien Rais, from his personal YouTube account.

In the video, Amien Rais accused President Prabowo Subianto and Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya of having a relationship that goes beyond professional boundaries.

"Yes, they (took down Amien Rais' video) because they have the power to do so," Sambo said during the National Assembly (Munas) of the Ummat Party in Yogyakarta on Saturday night, May 2, 2026.

Sambo also expressed regret, stating that in a democratic country, the government seems to be sensitive to the criticism voiced. "We are also puzzled, because when it comes to this kind of issue (criticism), the response is very quick. What about online gambling? Many inaccurate contents are left untouched, so it's not fair," he said.

Sambo defended Amien Rais, who often expresses his protests against the authorities in a straightforward and open manner. According to him, this has become Amien Rais' style of protest when feeling disturbed by the government's misconduct.

Following the disappearance of Amien Rais' video, the Ummat Party plans to file a protest with the Ministry of Communication and Digital or the Komdigi. "We will express our objection to this, why was only this video taken down," he said.

He mentioned that Amien Rais' allegations about the Prabowo-Teddy relationship have been common knowledge, especially on social media.

"Many things that, if we look at it, the story of (Prabowo-Teddy) has been circulating on social media for quite some time, so why is it only now being acted upon," he said. "Feel free to search on Google, open YouTube, the (Prabowo-Teddy relationship) has become common knowledge."

The Ummat Party is undeterred if Amien Rais' video is legally contested by Komdigi. "If it goes into the legal domain, we will also face it legally," he said.

Sambo believes that as a senior politician, Amien Rais has reasons and grounds for expressing his opinion about the Prabowo-Teddy relationship.

"Everything has its reasons. Mr. Amien, maybe when looking at it as a whole, from events such as (Teddy's) birthday and others that have been widely discussed on social media," he said. "So Mr. Amien dares to voice his opinion loudly and straightforwardly, that's his nature."

Sambo stated that the disappearance of the video, neither Amien Rais nor the Ummat Party, received any prior notification. "So the video was directly taken down, we received no notification at all," said Sambo.

When asked if the video would be re-uploaded to YouTube after being taken down, Sambo diplomatically answered, "We'll see how the situation develops."

Meanwhile, the Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, previously stated that the statement video of the Chairman of the Ummat Party's Advisory Council, Amien Rais, implicating President Prabowo Subianto and Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya, contains slanderous narratives and hate speech.

"The narrative built is an attempt to degrade the dignity of the highest state leaders, has no factual basis, and is part of an effort to provoke public unrest," Meutya Hafid said in a written statement on Friday, May 1, 2026.

For Meutya, this has the potential to divide the nation. She emphasized that the digital democracy space is a venue for competing ideas, not a space to produce hatred content that attacks the dignity of any human being.
