Antara, Jakarta – The President of All-Indonesian Workers Union Confederation (KSPSI), Andi Gani Nena WeaAndi, has unveiled the two-part agenda for the upcoming May Day on May 1, 2026. He stated that President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend two events at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta and Nganjuk, East Java.

"Two weeks ago, I was summoned by the President of the Republic of Indonesia to discuss May Day, and President Prabowo Subianto is confirmed to celebrate May Day with 200,000 workers at Monas at 08:00 AM. He will deliver a national speech," he said on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, as quoted from Antara.

After the event at Monas, Jakarta, Andi said that Prabowo, along with 115 leaders of confederations and federations across Indonesia, will head to Nganjuk to inaugurate the Marsinah Museum as a monument to the workers' struggle.

According to Andi, this year's May Day event is a reminder of the ongoing struggle to protect workers' rights and promote industrial revival in Indonesia.

Therefore, at this time, they and the government will discuss policies that support Indonesian workers. The Head of State will make a direct announcement regarding improving workers' welfare. "And his policies will be announced upon his return from a foreign visit," he added.

During this occasion, Andi stated that KSPSI also appreciates the police for assisting in resolving three major cases of layoffs (PHK) in the country. The three cases are layoffs at PT Tarumartani Yogyakarta, mass layoffs at PT Daicheng in Bekasi, and layoffs at PT Multi Strada.
