Adrial Akbar, Jakarta – The Civil Society Coalition in Solidarity with Andrie Yunus held an action to commemorate the anniversary of 30 days since the acid attack on Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras) activist Andrie Yunus.
During the action they traced the route from where Yunus was initially followed by the perpetrators to the location where he was doused with acid.
As observed by Detik.com on Sunday April 12, the action began in front of the Indonesian Legal Aid Institute (YLBHI) in Menteng, Central Jakarta, then proceeded to a petrol station in the Cikini area. The protest continued towards Diponegoro Park and ended on Jalan Talang, the site where Yunus was doused with acid.
Some of the protesters carried posters. The content of the messages ranged from calling for the formation of a joint fact-finding team (TGPF) to demanding a thorough investigation into the attack.
"Try the perpetrators in a public court", read one of the posters.
At the site of the acid attack, several murals and posters were displayed in support of Yunus. The action participants were also seen handing out flowers and tying pink ribbons at the site where Yunus was doused with acid. The action concluded with a joint prayer.
Andrie Yunus was the victim of an acid attack on the evening of Thursday March 12. The Indonesian Military's (TNI) Military Police Headquarters (Puspom TNI) subsequently arrested four individuals suspected of being the perpetrators of the attack.
All four are members of the TNI's Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS) Detachment Headquarters (Denma) from the Navy (TNI AL) and Air Force (TNI AU).
The TNI has completed its investigation into the four and they have been handed over to the Jakarta II-07 Military Auditor (Otmil).
"The TNI Puspom investigators have completed all stages of the investigation in accordance with applicable regulations. Furthermore, today Tuesday April 7, 2026, the case files, suspects, and evidence of the assault on Saudara [Brother] AY have been handed over by the TNI Puspom investigators to the Jakarta II-07 Otmil", said TNI Information Centre head Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah in a statement received on Tuesday.
Nasrullah said that the case files on the four suspects will be examined by the Military Auditor. If deemed complete, the four suspects will be tried in a military court.
"For the follow up the files will be examined for completeness of the formal and material requirements. If the files are deemed complete, they will be transferred to the Jakarta II-08 Military Court", Nasrullah said. (ial/dwr)
