M. Faiz Zaki, Jakarta – Indonesia's state-owned telecommunications giant PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk reported a nationwide service disruption affecting its major subsidiaries Telkomsel, Indibiz, and IndiHome on Thursday afternoon, January 22, 2026.
The outage disrupted internet connectivity across the country, limiting access to digital services and over-the-top (OTT) platforms relied on by millions of users.
Vice President of Corporate Communication at Telkom Indonesia, Andri Herawan Sasoko, said the company regrets the inconvenience experienced by customers.
"TelkomGroup extends its apologies for the disruption experienced by customers," Andri said in a written statement on Thursday.
He explained that the company is prioritizing efforts to resolve the issue through intensive coordination among technical teams. Telkom, he added, will continue to provide transparent updates as the situation develops.
"All technical measures are being taken to accelerate service recovery and minimize the impact on customers," Andri said.
Reports of internet service disruptions have been widely shared by users on social media. Telkom confirmed that the disturbance began at 11:03 AM Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
