Oyuk Ivani Siagian, Jakarta – The Jakarta Central Metro Police have deployed 2,038 combined personnel to secure a series of protests on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The Public Relations Officer of the Jakarta Central Metro Police, Inspector Erlyn Sumantri, said there were three demonstrations today.

Erlyn stated that the first protest was organized by the Taxpayer Society (MPP). The masses were scheduled to hold a demonstration at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).

The next protest will be held by the Cipayung Plus Jakarta Advocacy Alliance. The alliance consists of several external student organizations, including GMKI, HMI, SEMMI, and PMKRI. The masses will hold a demonstration in the South Cross area of the National Monument (Monas).

The third protest is organized by the Executive Committee of the Labor Party around the Central Jakarta District Court.

Erlyn stated that the security for all the protests would be conducted humanely. She also urged the participants to convey their aspirations in an orderly fashion. She requested the orators not to deliver provocative speeches and incite anarchist actions.

"Express your opinions peacefully, not anarchically, do not burn used tires, do not vandalize public facilities, and do not resist officers. Respect other people who are engaging in activities," she said in her statement on Wednesday afternoon.
