Alfitria Nefi Pratiwi, Jakarta – A total of 36 governors have announced the 2026 provincial minimum wage (UMP) as of Saturday, December 26, 2025. Two remaining provinces, namely Aceh and Highland Papua, are still in the process of calculating and determining next year's UMP.

Under Government Regulation Number 49 of 2025 on Wages, the deadline for announcing provincial minimum wages was December 24 at the latest.

In the latest regulation, the central government has set the formula for calculating the 2026 UMP increase as inflation + (economic growth x alpha). The alpha coefficient, or index, for the 2026 UMP ranges between 0.5 and 0.9.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the formula and alpha range would serve as benchmarks for wage-setting based on next year's economic conditions.

"This serves as a reference to ensure workers receive wages that meet their needs and reflect rising prices in society, as this is the minimum standard," Airlangga told reporters at Pondok Indah Mall, Jakarta, on Friday, December 26, 2025.
