Adil Al Hasan, Jakarta – The Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) recorded a position at 8,010.0 on Friday, August 15, 2025, after opening at 7,965.1. The IHSG position occurred from 10:30 to 10:31 a.m., while President Prabowo Subianto was delivering a state address at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta.

Based on data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange, the IHSG at 8,000 only lasted for one minute. After that, the IHSG fell back to 7,944.5 at 11:12 WIB. The stock trading volume was 41,108,574.86 shares, valued at Rp18.65 trillion.

Ratna Lim, Analyst from Phintraco Sekuritas, assessed that although the IHSG is expected to strengthen further, investors should be cautious of potential short-term profit-taking ahead of the long weekend. "Investors are also considering the state address and the financial note for the 2026 State Budget," Ratna said in her analysis in Jakarta, Friday, August 15, 2025, as quoted from Antara.

The IHSG's rise this morning is mainly driven by domestic factors, such as market players monitoring President Prabowo's state address and the financial note for the 2026 state budget. The Parliament today held the Annual Session of the MPR and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD for the year 2025 at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the external factor influencing the IHSG is the enthusiasm among market players about the potential for a decrease in the benchmark interest rate of the Federal Reserve in September 2025.

Domestically, the IHSG closed higher yesterday despite the decline of stock exchanges in the Asian region. The IHSG closed up by 38.34 points or 0.49 percent to 7,931.25. Meanwhile, the group of 45 leading stocks or the LQ45 index declined by 2.94 points or 0.35 percent to 826.91.

The regional Asian stock exchanges this morning include the Nikkei index, which rose by 333.24 points or 0.78 percent to 42,989.48, the Shanghai index, which rose by 9.83 points or 0.27 percent to 3,676.87, the Hang Seng index, which fell by 241.32 points or 0.99 percent to 25,292.55, and the Strait Times index, which rose by 26.25 points or 0.63 percent to 4,229.45.
