Eka Yudha Saputra, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia will not join any military bloc or alliance while attending the Indo Defence 2025 exhibition at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
"We are determined not to join any military group or alliance. The Indonesian people do not want that, as we want good relations with all powers," said Prabowo when attending the Indo Defence exhibition.
In front of foreign guests and military representatives, Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia's defense posture is defensive. He mentioned that Indonesia has no military interests abroad. However, Indonesia's defense is only intended for its region.
He said Indonesia is not as strong as other global powers. Thus, his government's policy is non-aligned or neutral. Prabowo stressed that his government respects all world powers and wants to maintain good relations with all countries.
He also said that he does not want to interfere in the domestic affairs of other countries, as long as other countries do not interfere in Indonesia's domestic affairs.
"Therefore, I announce my current policy of being a good neighbor. We want to be good neighbors to all countries, whether they are close, moderate, or far away," he said.
Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin said that this year's Indo Defence carries the theme "Defense Partnership for Global Peace and Stability." The exhibition, which is held from June 11 to 14, 2025, is attended by 1,180 participants. Meanwhile, 42 friendly countries, 659 foreign companies, and 521 domestic manufacturers participated in the exhibition.
"Foreign defense industries that will be exhibiting at Indo Defence include Russia's Sukhoi 57, Turkey's Aselsan ALP300G radar system, and France's Rafale fighter aircraft," said Sjafrie.
