Dani Aswara, Jakarta – President Prabowo and several high-ranking state officials attend the International Labor Day commemoration at the National Monument (Monas) square on Thursday, May 1, 2025, appearing to stand on the main stage with labor union leaders and worker representatives from various regions.
President Prabowo arrived around 10:10 a.m. local time. Before going up on stage, the president greeted people along the walkway towards the stage. Teddy Indra Wijaya, who serves as the Cabinet Secretary in the Red and White Cabinet, also accompanied Prabowo.
On the stage, Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani, Speaker of the House Puan Maharani, Deputy Speaker of the House Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, and the House Commission III head Habiburokhman were seen. National Police chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo was also seen on stage.
Still on the same stage, several ministers were present, including Minister of Manpower Yassierli and the Minister of Migrant Workers' Protection Abdul Kadir Karding.
Raffi Ahmad, who serves as the Presidential Special Envoy for the Development of the Young Generation and Artists, also attended the event. Meanwhile, from the labor side, the Secretary General of the World Labor Union, Shoya Yoshida, as well as the leaders and presidents of labor union confederations in Indonesia, were present on stage.
Workers have begun arriving at Monas since 6:30 a.m. to commemorate Labor Day which falls on Thursday, May 1, 2025, on various modes of transportation, including buses and other vehicles.
The event was attended by various labor and worker confederations, including the All-Indonesia Workers Union Confederation (KSPSI), the Indonesian Workers Union Confederation (KSPI), and the All-Indonesia Labor Union Confederation (KSBSI). KSPSI was prominent with its blue-colored union flag and logo, while the other unions also prepared their respective attributes.
Approximately 200,000 workers attended the May Day commemoration held at the National Monument field on May 1, 2025. President of the Indonesian Workers Union Confederation (KSPI) Said Iqbal said that the workers present came from Greater Jakarta and its surrounding areas, such as Karawang, Purwakarta, Serang, and Cilegon.
