Ervana Trikarinaputri, Jakarta – Thousands of workers from various labor unions will hold a protest demanding the repeal of the Omnibus Law on Job Creation, at the Constitutional Court Building, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
This action is held to oversee the judicial review of the Job Creation Law by the Constitutional Court. "The Job Creation Law fails to achieve prosperity. The Constitutional Court must annul it," as stated on the official Instagram account of the Labor Party @partaiburuh_, quoted on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
This demonstration coincides with the reading of the material test decision of the Omnibus Law filed by the Labor Party, Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI), Confederation of All Indonesian Workers (KSPSI), Confederation of the Indonesian Trade Union (KPBI), Federation of Indonesian Metal Workers (FSPMI), and other labor unions. The reading of the decision is scheduled for today, at 10:00 AM, in the Plenary Session Room on the 2nd Floor of the Constitutional Court Building.
"The Council of Judges' Deliberation decided to hold the Plenary Session for Pronouncement of Decision on Case Number 168/PUU-XXI/2023," reads the Court Summons issued by the Constitutional Court under reference number 530.168/PUU/PAN.MK/PS/10/2024, on Monday, October 28, 2024.
The summons is related to the Material Testing of Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning the Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation into Law. The decision reading will be attended by representatives of the parties who submitted the material tests, witnesses, and experts.
