Emmanuel Kure, Jakarta – A former employee of Lintasarta, a subsidiary of cellular operator Indosat, is alleged to have breached the second backup server of the national data center in Surabaya.
Local media reports have identified the former employee as Dicky Prasetya Atmadja, who allegedly shared documents containing access information from the national data center, also known as the government cloud.
In response to these reports, Indosat spokesman Steve Saerang stated on Sunday that Dicky has not been employed by Lintasarta since 2021.
"We want to emphasize that the person linked to the national data center breach has not been employed by Lintasarta since August 2021," Steve said.
He added that Indosat and its subsidiaries are committed to maintaining good corporate governance and integrity to honor the trust of their customers.
The data center is managed by Lintasarta in collaboration with Telkom Sigma, a subsidiary of the state-owned telecommunications company Telkom.
The Jakarta Globe could not immediately contact Dicky for his response, and it is unclear if he has appointed an attorney.
Reza Permana Topobroto, Telkom Sigma's vice president for legal and compliance, said the company is fully cooperating with the Ministry of Communication and Informatics and the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN) to recover the compromised government data and restore services.
Regarding allegations of an insider's involvement in the data breach, Reza said the company could not comment or take any action until the ongoing digital forensic investigation is concluded.
