Antara, Karawang – Chinese electric two-wheeler manufacturer Yadea on Monday has officially started constructing its electric motorcycle factory in the Suryacipta Industrial Area, Karawang Regency, West Java. The Yadea Technology Indonesia factory will have a production capacity of 3 million electric motorcycles per year.
"We are delighted to announce the establishment of the Yadea factory in Indonesia, with an annual production capacity of 3 million units," said Wang Jinglong, General Manager of Yadea Electric Vehicle Manufacturing, in a statement on Tuesday.
He added that the construction of this factory is a strategic and effective step to meet the growing demand for high-quality electric two-wheeled vehicles in the Indonesian market.
The total investment for this factory's construction is estimated at $150 million (Rp 2.42 trillion), and it is expected to start operations in 2026.
This new factory in Indonesia will not only cater to the domestic market but also export products to neighboring countries.
The factory is expected to create around 3,000 new jobs in the production sector, excluding marketing.
