Yustinus Paat, Jakarta – The Constitutional Court has received 63 lawsuits disputing the election results, including two cases related to the presidential election, just hours before the deadline arrived on Saturday.

Presidential candidates Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo filed separate cases alleging widespread fraud in the Feb. 14 election and demanding a revote.

"We have received 63 cases as of this evening, including 56 cases on the legislative election, five cases on the senate election, and two cases on the presidential election," court spokesman Fajar Laksono said in Jakarta.

The court closes registration of cases challenging election results at midnight.

"The deadline is at 10.19 p.m. for disputes in the legislative election and midnight for disputes in the presidential election," Fajar added.

He said plaintiffs may add new evidence and testimonies during the upcoming hearings.

Ganjar said earlier this week that the legal measures weren't solely meant to overturn the election results but to enforce due process of law and safeguard democracy.

Ganjar ranked last in the three-way presidential election with only 16.47 percent of the vote, according to the national vote tally announced by the General Election Commission (KPU) on Wednesday evening.

Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto was declared the election winner with 58.58 percent of the vote, compared to election runner-up Anies who received 24.95 percent.

Ganjar claimed that the legal team of his campaign has collected evidence and testimonies indicating widespread fraud, but he didn't provide details.
