Ihsan Reliubun, Jakarta – The Head of General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Rahmat Bagja stated that allegations of billboards or campaign props installation by police members are unproven.

"According to [Bawaslu team] there is no proof of involvement by police apparatus in campaign props installation," Rahmat said to reporters in Jakarta, this Monday, November 20, 2023.

The allegation emerged after police members in Jember, East Java were suspected involved in campaign props installation.

Rahmat also responded to the 23 alleged general elections offenses and neutrality violations by three acting regents of unspecified regions. According to Rahmat, Bawaslu is currently processing these reports.

"Everything that circulated in social media has no clear timeline and place," Rahmat said.

Earlier, Acting Regent of Sorong Yan Piet Mosso allegedly inked an MoU with the Head of West Papua State Intelligence Agency TSP Silaban. The acting regent was committed, as included in the agreement, to seeking support and ensuring a win for Ganjar Pranowo by 60%+1 votes in the 2024 general elections.

When asked about this document, running vice presidential candidate Mahfud MD claimed that the MoU was not a legal concern since it was inked in August 2023, prior to the general elections candidacy announcement in November.

"It's not a legal problem, just let it be," he said on Tuesday, November 14.
