Tegar Nurfitra, Kupang – Indonesian Police (Polri), represented by East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police Chief (Kapolda) Inspector General Johanis Asadoma, intensified cooperation with the Timor-Leste Police (PNTL) by attending its head's inauguration ceremony in Dili, Timor-Leste, Mar 27.

Head of the Public Relations Division of NTT Police Grand Commissioner Ariasandy stated that Asadoma attended the ceremony on behalf of Polri Chief General Listyo Sigit, who was unable to attend. Asadoma attended the ceremony in hopes of boosting cooperation between Polri and PNTL in guarding border areas.

Three Transboundary Guard Posts (PLBN) in Mota Ain, Motamasin, and Wini are situated between Indonesia and Timor-Leste.

"Kapolda's attendance was also a sign of efforts to further improve the countries' brotherhood ties that have been well-established," Ariasandy affirmed.

So far, both sides have been frequently conducting joint border operations to maintain the region's safety and to ensure no illegal transboundary crossings.

Asadoma was accompanied by Kapolres (the head of County Police) Belu, Kapolres Kupang, Kapolres TTU, Kapolres Malaka, Kapolres Alor, and his personal staff during his visit to Timor-Leste.

The aforementioned police heads are officers stationed in the border areas between NTT in Indonesia and Timor-Leste. On that occasion, Asadoma also attended the 23rd anniversary of PNTL.
