Amelia Rahima Sari, Jakarta – Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said the ministry opened a complaint channel dubbed Whistleblowing System (WISE). The complaint was then followed up with verification to investigation which could lead to disciplinary sanctions.
Since the opening of the channel, hundreds of employees have received disciplinary penalties as they were proven to violate regulations.
"In 2022, we received 185 complaints of fraud or crime, which were followed up and resulted in disciplinary punishment against 96 employees," said Sri Mulyani in a press conference held virtually, on Friday, February 24, 2023.
In 2021, she recalled, the ministry handled 174 fraud complaints which ended in disciplinary sanctions against 114 employees. "In 2020, during the pandemic, we received 128 fraud complaints and we imposed disciplinary punishment on 71 employees," Sri outlined.
From 2020 to 2022, the ministry handed down disciplinary sanctions to 311 employees. The number did not yet include Rafael Alun Trisambodo (RAT), an employee at the Tax Directorate General who was today dismissed from his position.
Rafael has recently been in the public spotlight because of the alleged assault committed by his son, Mario Dandy Satriyo. The case made rounds on social media. Internet users questioned Mario's luxurious cars, such as Harley and Rubicon, which were not included in Rafael's State Administration Wealth Report (LHKPN).
"On February 23, an examination was carried out related to information on assets and an alleged assault case committed by a member of his family. As part of the investigation which is currently ongoing, RAT is removed from his position," said Sri Mulyani.
The legal basis used was Article 31 paragraph (1) PP 94 of 2021 concerning discipline for civil servants and letters of assignment to examine disciplinary violations of RAT No.: ST-321/IJ/IJ.1/2023 dated February 22, 2023.
