Muhsin Sabilillah, Jakarta – The National People's Defending Movement (GNPR) and the Islamic Brotherhood Front (FPI) are set to hold the 4th demonstration of the People's Defending Action (Akbar) and the reunion of the 411 Action today, November 4, 2022, around the Jakarta Merdeka Palace. They will urge President Joko Widodo alias Jokowi to step down.

Muhammad Al-Atthas, the chairperson of FPI which is the rebranded group of the disbanded Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), said the President was indifferent to the voices of the people who recently took to the streets. He believed the government had failed.

He recalled that GNPR and the people had taken to the streets several times in response to various policies created by the government, but all of the demands were never addressed.

"So we think and believe that this is due to the failure of the government headed by the honorable President Joko Widodo in bringing people's lives to a better path under current conditions," said Al-Atthas, who is Rizieq Shihab's son-in-law, at a press conference at Warung Buncit on Thursday, November 3, 2022.

GNPR thus urged President Jokowi to resign voluntarily as a form of ethical responsibility. "We demand the Honorable President Joko Widodo resign voluntarily in accordance with MPR Decree Number VI/MPR/2001 concerning Political Ethics and Governance," he emphasized.

The GNPR and FPI demonstrations and the 411 Action reunion will be held on Friday afternoon around the Horse Statue, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat. Police have prepared traffic diversion in the area.
