Antara, Jakarta – Sixty-six judges candidates underwent medical and psychiatric examinations at the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital. The 66 people comprise 55 candidates for Supreme Court (MA) justices, and 11 candidates of MA ad hoc judges for criminal acts of corruption.
"The results of this test, along with the candidate's track record and the results of their personality and competency assessment, will be used by the Judicial Commission to determine whether they pass to the next stage of selection," the Judicial Commission's head of recruitment of judges, Siti Nurdjanah, said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday, March 16.
Siti said the health and psychological examination was aimed at assessing the participants' mental and physical health to ensure they are capable of performing their duties and obligations as Supreme Court judges.
The candidates are also being screened for their backgrounds. The results will be crossed checked with public opinion and the analysis of their wealth report (LHKPN) – in collaboration with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
The Judicial Commission is hiring eight Supreme Court justices, and three ad hoc judges for corruption within the Supreme Court.
