Kukuh S. Wibowo, Jakarta – The Health Ministry recorded that the number of daily confirmed COVID-19 cases continued to decline to 9,629 on Monday, March 14. The figure is lower than that on January 28 at 9,905.

The recovery number also increased to 39,296 compared to the previous day at 25,854. Thus, the hospital bed occupancy rate automatically dropped from 22 percent as of Sunday to 21 as of Monday.

"The daily number of confirmed cases has returned to the level of January 2022 and this trend continues to be suppressed as soon as possible. Likewise, the hospital bed occupancy rate keeps declining day by day. This proves that the virus containment in Indonesia is heading to a better way every day," said Siti Nadia Tarmizi, a spokesperson for the ministry, in a written statement.

Additionally, active cases continued to decline in a consistent way. On Monday, it was recorded at 312,958, decreased from the previous day at 342,896.

The national virus positivity rate has also improved and was recorded at 11.56 percent as of Sunday, March 13. On March 12, it was at 15.02 percent.

"The optimism in controlling COVID-19 needs to be supported through efforts to accelerate and expand the complete two-dose vaccination and a booster. This is our defense fortress from severe symptoms and the risk of death caused by the virus infection," said Nadia.
