Bisnis, Jakarta – Entering the second year of the pandemic, the Covid-19 task force has eventually regulated the tariffs of quarantine repatriation hotels for people arriving from overseas, which will have been made effective on December 20.

The task force's spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito claims there are 16,500 available hotel rooms turned to be dedicated quarantine facilities, which is 70 percent occupied. The announcement comes following a public outcry on the steep expenses needed to undergo quarantines in hotels.

Hotel owners, according to Bisnis.com, have pledged to add the available rooms whenever the situation is needed, especially from 2 and 3-star hotels. Each and every hotel participating in this program is listed in the official website https://quarantinehotelsjakarta.com.

"So far, the PHRI (Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Entrepreneurs Association) pledged to add the number of rooms if needed," said the spokesperson on December 20. "The list of hotels are filed in the D-Hots web, with the price list too."

The tariffs vary based on the quarantine period and hotel classification. For example, quarantine in a 2-star hotel for 10-days starts from Rp6.75 million to a maximum of just over Rp7 million. The tariff climbs along with the hotel classification with those classified as luxury offers tariffs ranging between Rp17 million-Rp21 million.

These tariffs already include costs for healthcare workers, security, and PCR tests throughout the hotel stay.
