Ousted KPK employee resorts to selling fried rice

Tempo - October 11, 2021

M Rosseno Aji, Jakarta – Juliandi Tigor Simanjuntak, a former employee of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) legal bureau, resorted to selling fried rice after he was sacked. Tigor is one of the KPK employees who was fired for failing the civil service exam – known as the national insight test or TWK.

"Tigor is one of 57 KPK employees who were fired through TWK's trick," another former KPK employee, Aulia Postiera, posted on Twitter, Sunday, October 10, 2021.

Aulia, who was an investigator at the KPK, allowed his tweet quoted. He said that Tigor is now selling fried rice near his house whilst remaining an active church activist.

Aulia said that Tigor was a dedicated employee. However, his dedication was destroyed by the TWK test, which has been proven to be a human rights violation as well as maladministration.

"His dedication of more than ten years was destroyed with just two days of testing," said Aulia.

Fifty eight KPK employees were declared to have failed the TWK. Then, 57 of them were fired on September 30, 2021. That number was reduced by one because one employee, Sujanarko, had entered retirement. However, their number went up to 57 again after a young investigator, Lakso Anindito, was also deemed to have failed the test.
