Antara, Jakarta – The Ministry of Industry in a statement on Sunday announced that its health protocol monitoring in the industry sector and mass Covid-19 vaccination enrolled for workers reduces transmission significantly up to 80 percent.
"A worker in a company who has not been vaccinated has a 35 percent risk of being infected while that number can be suppressed to 7 percent if vaccinated," wrote the Ministry's director general of industry Putu Juli Ardika in his written statement on September 12, Antaranews reported.
Ardika said the operations of the industry sector plays a strategic role in accelerating the government's goal to realize economic recovery amidst the pandemic and believes policies on beefing up health protocols and vaccinations in the industry sector should work hand-in-hand.
The Industry Ministry conveyed its appreciation for private companies that have participated in attempts to reduce the spread of coronavirus. "The learning curve in the industry sector has seen significant progress. Indonesia is even seen as one of the countries that have made it in terms of economic recovery and pandemic handling," Ardika wrote.
The non-oil-and-gas processing industry improved 6.91 percent in this year's Q2 which aligns with the 7.07 percent national economic growth. Manufacturing also contributed 17.34 percent to the GDP, which is higher compared to other economic sectors.
