Andita Rahma, Jakarta – Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko on Friday officially filed a police report against two Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) researchers, Egi Primayogha and Miftah, over slander allegations.

His lawyer, Otto Hasibuan, accompanied him as he filed the report at the National Police Criminal Investigation Division (Bareskrim) headquarters.

"I, Moeldoko, as a law-abiding citizen, filed a report against Egi and Miftah for slandering me," said Moeldoko.

Moeldoko claimed he already gave a chance to the two anti-graft watchdog researchers to explain their allegations against him and demanded the two researchers issue an apology and revoke their initial accusations.

"But until this moment, they failed to comply," said the retired Army general.

Otto Hasibuan added the ICW researchers were unable to prove their allegations aimed at his client, which linked his client with an alleged Ivermectin distribution scheme and rice exports. He also believed ICW had not revoked their initial accusations against Moeldoko.

This row between them initially happened after the ICW researchers linked Moeldoko's proximity with a higher up at PT Harsen Laboratories that produces Ivermectin as a COVID-19 therapeutic drug.
