Adam Prireza, Jakarta – Jakarta Health Agency's Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division, Dwi Oktavia, said on Monday, September 6, that 217 new Covid-19 cases were found in the capital. This figure was obtained from the results of PCR tests on 10,083 people.

According to Dwi, the city had 524 new active cases as of Monday. "So the number of active cases to date is 5,061 people, who are still being treated or isolated," she said in a written statement.

During the past week, the Jakarta Health Agency said the virus positivity rate was 3.2 percent. The figure has decreased since a few days ago. The current rate is already below the WHO standard of less than 5 percent.

Jakarta has thus far detected 852,909 positive cases. Of that number, 834,489 people have been declared recovered, bringing the recovery rate to 97.8 percent, while 13,359 others succumbed to the disease with the death rate of 1.6 percent. "Meanwhile, Indonesia's death rate is 3.3 percent," said Dwi.

Although the Covid-19 numbers in Jakarta continued to decline, the city administration was determined to extend the implementation of Level 3 Public Mobility Restrictions or PPKM until September 13, 2021.
