Dewi Nurita, Jakarta – President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on Thursday had ordered the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) commander Hadi Tjahjanto to coordinate the distribution of free Covid-19 therapeutic medicines and vitamins for patients in self-isolation.
The government will distribute 300,000 of these free medicinal packages which mainly targets asymptomatic patients and patients with mild-symptoms. The TNI commander assures that the beneficiaries will get the packages.
"The military personnel will distribute the 300,000 packages in the first phase, accompanied by healthcare officials in each region," said the TNI commander Hadi in his statement on July 15.
The TNI will also make sure that the distribution in Java and Bali will run accordingly. They will escort the process by working closely with regional administrations, community healthcare centers (Puskesmas), and police boroughs.
The data of the beneficiaries is based on the data logged by local Puskesmas that had collected reports on swab test results and statement that the individuals must udergo self-isolation. The medicines will temporarily be stored at local Military Commands (Kodim).
