Fajar Pebrianto, Jakarta – Until the end of April 2021, the Indonesian government had spent Rp10.7 trillion from the state budget to treat Covid-19 patients. The money was used to pay for hospital facilities, health workers, and medicines that were given free to 159,700 patients.
"All of the spendings are from the State Budget," said Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati in a press conference on KITA APBN on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
Additionally, Rp7.4 trillion had been used up to finance the procurement and administration of the Covid-19 vaccine. However, they were only part of the total funds prepared by Minister Sri that reached over Rp60 trillion.
Apart from that, another Rp9.95 trillion was used for the assistance program for 8.29 million micro business actors. Some 3.45 million students including university students had received aid totaling Rp4.5 trillion, and Rp1.5 trillion had been used for infrastructure maintenance.
With these total expenditures, the spending of the ministry or institution increased drastically in April 2021. The realization reached Rp98.7 trillion, grew by 87.1 percent from April 2020 that was only Rp52.8 trillion.
In general, the realization of state expenditure reached Rp732 trillion or increased by 15.9 percent. As for the Covid-19 handling, its realization budget reached Rp183.98 trillion or 26.3 percent of the ceiling target as of May 21, 2021.
