Halida Bunga, Dio Suhenda, Jakarta – The 212 Alumni Association (PA 212) will hold a rally on February 21.

"We will take to the streets on Friday, February 21. The 21st of the second month. The mass action will also be named 212," PA 212 spokesman Novel Bamukmin told Tempo on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

Novel stated there are two demands in this action. Firstly, PA 212 demands the government to immediately and thoroughly investigate the corruption cases of Jiwasraya, Asabri and Pelindo. According to Novel, corruption has now reached its peak and made President Joko Widodo's government the most corrupt regime. "And the worst of all time," he said.

Related to that, PA 212 also demanded that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) leadership be removed from their position and replaced. Novel warned that if President Jokowi will not hear their aspirations and will not take concrete action, then Jokowi will also be asked to resign. "Because we have seen this government fail," he said.

The failure of the government was seen by PA 212 due to the economic downturn in Indonesia as a result of corruption. "That is the point of our action, because previously we focused on the cases of criminalization of Muslim clerics and blasphemy," Novel said.

According to Novel, the mass action was originally intended to be carried out in front of the State Palace. However, he believes that the State Palace will be closed by security forces. Therefore, the mass action will instead be held at the Horse Statue of Arjuna Wiwaha, Central Jakarta. "The gathering point is there, after Friday prayers," he said.

Novel claimed that the mass action will be attended by 100,000 people and that he had arranged permission to the police about the mass action. "There is no permit, maybe a notification letter and coordination with the police and they will oversee it," he said.
