Friski Riana, Jakarta – State Secretary Pratikno said he was preparing the draft of a government regulation in lieu of law or Perppu concerning the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"Our task as [presidential] staffers is to prepare anything that will be decided by the leader," said Pratikno at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Friday, September 27.

Pratikno reiterated that the draft was being designed to anticipate President Jokowi's decision regarding a Perppu on the KPK in a few days ahead. "We anticipate the President's decision," he said.

Previously, Jokowi claimed he was mulling to issue a Perppu following massive protests against the revised Law No. 30/2002.

"Regarding the KPK Law which has been ratified, [we have] received many suggestions, especially requests about the issuance of a Perppu. We will immediately review it, and after we come to a decision later, we will announce it," said the President on Thursday, September 26.

Meanwhile, several days ago, Jokowi refused to pass a Perppu on the KPK. The government considered the regulation could be issued only when there was a legal vacuum and during an emergency. Thus, members of the public who reject the amended law should file a judicial review to the Constitutional Court.
