Francisca Christy Rosana, Jakarta – The deputy chairman of Gerindra party, Fadli Zon, planned to bring up the court verdict on Ahmad Dhani, which he deemed bizarre, in the hearing with the legal commission of the House of Representatives (DPR).

"Gerindra members will question this case during the hearing," said Fadli when met in Cipinang Prison after visiting Dhani on Wednesday, January 30.

The hearing, that will present the Legal and Human Rights Ministry, will discuss the Law of Electronic Information and Transaction (ITE Law) and Ahmad Dhani's case as a sample study. The board, he added, will examine each article in the policy and its implementation.

Ahmad Dhani was sentenced to 1 year and six months behind bars for spreading hate speech on his Twitter account March 2017, charged with Article 45A (2) in conjunction with Article 28 (2) of ITE Law.

Fadli Zon continued that Gerindra will further canvass the case and will provide legal support to his party's cadre Ahmad Dhani who is currently listed as a legislative candidate in East Java.
